I found a working dos driver for my Usb mouse, wich is a Microsoft "wheel mouse optical usb".This
driver ist part of Symantecs Norton Ghost 2001,and is intended for a dos usb network.I just tried to see if my mouse would work on that driver:AND IT REALLY DOES.
It is working just perfectly, the curser and the buttons .Just the wheel isnt working.
Now the best thing:you can download that driver at Symantecs netpage. Here is the direct link:
The drivers name is uhci.exe, and you have to load it as a device driver in your config.sys:device=path\uhci.exe
thats all.
There is a second driver ohci.exe, you may try that as well for other usb devices, may be it works. It is called ohci.exe, the link is the same, except for ohci.exe at the end instead of uhci.exe
Important:this driver works very well on my laptop which has no legacy support,so it is really the driver that works. For an experiment,I loaded a standard mouse driver together with the Usb driver:DONT do that, the computer hangs immediately. So all you need is that uhci.exe driver.
And finally:this does work perfectly on my computer, which does not mean it works on yours too,but just have a try:Good Luck.
Hey,if you are happy with this, just let me know.
