On the Win 95 CD and many other older DOS games and apps.disks there is a file Mouse.com drop this into your root C:\ and add the line to autoexec.bat as this.
C:\Mouse.com
its a TSR but wont slow things down too much.
If you cant find it mail me and I'll send you a copy.Have you tried the drivers on the 98 CD in drivers, there are at least 2 that should work in DOS, make sure you load it in Dostart.bat
