Hi,
The way round this is to go into the bios by pressing Control+Alt+S when booting up. In the bios is a setting which selects between the external mouse and the external keyboard. Set it so it is looking for an external keyboard and the mouse should then work. (Assuming no other faults with the mouse)

Regards,

John
: i'm stuck with the trackball of the laptop in the
: message subject. it's an old model (mono display,
: 12MB RAM, 100MHz 486 DX2). external ps2 mice work
: well, just the internal trackball won't. i'm running
: win95, has anybody an idea what might be wrong or
: which drivers i should get (the trackball is technically
: ok. no physical faults)
