I had the same problem, and doing a little research I discovered that not all the mouses are PS2 "and" serial compatible.
It happens that the kind of signal the mouse send is different in each case, so there are some PS2/serial compatible mouses (wich can use the adapter), but most of them are not.
If your mouse doesn't say anything about both ports, then you just canīt use the adapter.
