: I have a maxtor hardrive and it does not show the places to put the jumper for master, slave, etc. Can someone help me here?

: Also I have a fujitsu hardrive and it will not start win98. I put it on slave but the master cannot find it. Why? Someone out there help me!!!!!!!!!

Maxtor has an EXCELLENT HDD documentation library posted on their web site - probably for every HDD they ever made - so drill down to find jumper settings, utilities, manuals and more at:

Regarding the Fujitsu HDD - you did not mention HDD capacity (COULD be vital info) and it is not clear to me what you have done. You need to autodetect the HDD in CMOS Setup - if not detected you may have a hardware problem (bad drive, bad cable, bent pin, connector not seated all the way, ...) or firmware (BIOS) limit. Fujitsu had some postings last time I checked (manuals, jumpers, specs, utilities ...)

Post again with lots more info about the Fujitsu HDD if you are still having problems.

GGood Luck,
