Sounds like your BIOS cannot detect a HDD as large as yours. NO PROBLEM - just use an ATA/66 expansion card to get HDD support up to about 128GB (you can use ATA/100 at about double the cost or ATA/133 at about quadruple the cost if you like, BUT you will not get much performance improvement (the sustained data rate of the fastest IDE HDDs is about 40MB/sec, maybe a little more by now).
