DO NOT TRY TO FORMAT YOUR HDD IF BIOS DOES NOT DETECT IT. If you have any success at all your PC will eventually mark everything BAD above the BIOS capacity limit.

Your BIOS apparently does not support large HDDs. The best way to get large HDD support (if no BIOS update is available) is to use an ATA/66 expansion card - it will support large HDDs up to about 128GB.

You MAY get away with using a drive overlay program from the HDD maker, BUT they are not always compatible with PC BIOS and if you have another HDD of different make or model - might not work there either. Read about the problems removing drive overlay program:
http://www.wdc.com/service/FAQ/ezdrive.html#lba

Similar problems would exist if you use the overlay on the main (large HDD) and try to read the smaller HDDs.

Good Luck,
Henry
