: I tried to move a hard drive from one machine to another and on first boot windows created a second floppy "b" drive and forced ms-dos compatability issues. The a and b (not there) drives are no longer usable. What do I do? Can't fdisk from a boot disk..anybody know the solution?

windows embeds itself into your hardware; if you move a HDD to a "strange" computer it gets confused. IF you can get into Device Manager DELETE all of the hardware and reboot. This should force win to discover the new hardware and ask for your help installing the drivers. You may need to go back to the other PC to remove the drivers then boot up on the new computer.

Hope this helps,
Henry
