Mainboard maker's web site is the first place to look for drivers for your mainboard - they may have been adapted to use a unioque feature on the mainboard; second best place is the chipset maker's web site for GENERIC drivers - that would be C-Media:

xp is new - maybe the drivers aren't ready yet - maybe the never will be. There is a price to pay if you wqant to operate on the bleeding edge of technology.
