: hello, i formated my hard drive but didn't want to erase files that i had there, so now i want to recover them and don't know how to , may you help me??? thank you!

You have a very difficult problem - and there may be no solution. You have overwritten the FAT table that keeps track of which HDD sectors belong to which files. If you have used the HDD since you formatted it then all is probably lost. If your files have significant commercial value then go to the Profesional Data Recovery Experts (like Ontrack, for example).

The best chances you have for recovering your data are with ResQdisk that you can find at:
http://resq.co.il/resq.php

Read all you can read about the basics of data recovery at the above URL.

There is another set of data recovery tools (findpart, editpart, ...) at:
http://www.inet.uni2.dk/~svolaf/utilities.htm

Good Luck. I think you have a tough job ahead (but you will learn a lot by trying).

Henry
