Hi Henry,
I just had the same problem of Chris and I definitively want to get rid of XP but can't delete the partition with XP !
The problem is that when I boot my machine thru a floppy with an old operational system, my HD is not available (although it is detected by the BIOS).
I mean that the only valid unit is the floppy drive and when I try to switch to c: (for instance) the system returns me as it is a non valid unit.
I have tried already to install a second HD as master with Win95 but the HD with XP is not detected too ! Maybe because it's a NTFS unit.
Then my question is how to make it recognizable in order to be able to run fdisk on it !
Thanks
LWer

: TRY to delete your partitions and rebuild them with fdisk (on a bootable floppy - you'll need format and scandisk too), format the drive and scan the surface. If fdisk fails, download your HDD maker's diagnostic utility and erase the drive with the erase function (some call it "low level format" but it just erases everything) - then partition, format and load your OS. If available, I PREFER to run a destructive write-read function that scans the surface as it erases the info - then no need to run scandisk.

: Good Luck,
: Henry
