Henry might disagree but the main reason that the MBR switch in Fdisk is un-documented is that it has a tendancy to re-write a comply screwed Boot record and partition table, it very rarely succeeds, most of the main 'tech' advice sites say don't use it ever and I tend to agree.
Unfortunately once done you cant undo it you should seriously consider an OS re-install, even if just over the top, to write a readable record.
