I am trying to edit video using Premiere 6.0 on a SONY VAIO, running Windows XP Home Edition. I have previously used the Maxtor 80 GB external 1395 drive with a PII 300, with DMA switched on and it worked. I can't find a way to enable DMA on the new setup? I understand that in XP, the device itself is not where you are supposed to check DMA, but the transfer mode is set to 'DMA where available' on everything above it in the device control chain. Am I missing something or do I need a new driver? Thanks!
