TRY to delete your partitions and rebuild them with fdisk (on a bootable floppy - you'll need format and scandisk too), format the drive and scan the surface. If fdisk fails, download your HDD maker's diagnostic utility and erase the drive with the erase function (some call it "low level format" but it just erases everything) - then partition, format and load your OS. If available, I PREFER to run a destructive write-read function that scans the surface as it erases the info - then no need to run scandisk.
