I also bought a Western Digital 100 GB EIDE, which crashed exactly one week after I bought it and transferred everything I had to it. The crash is physical, because I diagnosed it with their software and it says there is something wrong with the drive and it needs to be replaced. I am very interested in sueing the company for false advertising (it says "Designed to Protect your Data" in big letters on the box) but I don't have enough number of people having the same problem as me to be able to have a Class Action lawsuit filed. If anybody anywhere is reading this message and is interested to be treated justly, please contact me via email. I am getting sick of these companies who don't take full responsibility for their failures. (Is it really hard to repair a drive for a hard drive manufacturing company?!) I hope the same thing that happened to IBM will happen to WD so the poor consumers will get what was worth of all their headaches.
