I had an unfortunate hard disk crash, and need a replacement.

I talked to this guy who sells PC hardware, that I might have a 37 GB limit on my system, but that I needed to check my system's documentation.

I am moving house, so everything is stuffed away in boxes - so I am trying to find out without opening and searching through several boxes...

I have a Dell XPS R400 Pentium II 400 - bought in February 99, it DID run Windows 98 up until this recent crash. The BIOS is Phoenix BIOS 4.0 Release 6.0 Update A13 (the latest one, dated sometimes in
99) from Dell.

The disk that crashed was 13 GB - so my system was able to go above the "old" 8GB hard disk barrier.

I would like to buy a 40 GB or a 60 GB hard drive - they are coming down in price seriously, but will they run on my system?
