: I have an ABIT motherboard with the NV revision BIOS. I can see the 40 Gb drive in the BIOS, but I have to use the Dynamic Drive Overlay in order to see the entire drive in Windows 98. I'm trying to dual boot win98 and NT, but so far NT refuses to play.
: I don't think NT likes the DDO S/W.

: I have moved and formatted partitions with Partition Magic and tried every combination, but NT just loads the first part with the install disks, then crashes as soon as it reboots and has to access the drive.

: A simple question ... Can NT be loaded on a drive which has to use Dynamic Drive Overlays to be seen?

: Regards,

Which DDO are you using?
Does the DDO Documentation mention NT4?
Which NT4 SP are you using?

I don't understand WHY win98 won't see the full capacity if the BIOS sees it all. I STRONGLY recommend avoiding DDOs if at all possible - use as a last resort only. Note that there are some large HDD support issues that have been fixed by recent win98 patches. Suggest that you find and read Maxtor's Doc 30004 (DDO Q&As) and check microsoft knowledge base for fdisk, format and scandisk updates for large HDDs. I think you are running into OS limits complicated by the dual boot you want to use.

Good Luck,
