: I have overwriten the EZ-Bios code of one of my hard drives while instaling linux lilo. Using the ez-bios floppy I was able to recover the partitions so that linux has no problem reading them. However windows does not. Partition magic says EZ-bios code is corrupts, windows fdisk says there is one whole non-dos partition.
: The EZ-bios floppy says ez-bios is not installed on the hard drive, how ever linux reports it is when booting. If I atempt to reinstall ez-bios all partition data is lost and neether linux nor windows may use the disk.
: Can anybody help me please. Please feel free to email me to:

Data Recovery won't be easy - Linux complicates things a bit, but recovery IS possible. You can find lots of ez-bios removal, restoration and data recovery information at: [FAQ 29, 30 & on] [Select Product Support, Desktop (ATA) Drives then Technical Procedures] Read Docs 24003, 24006, 24019, 24020

Data recovery information and tools (some free) at:

Strongly suggest that after you recover your data that you eliminate the need for ez-bios by using an ATA/66 card with HDD support up to about 128 GB.

Good Luck,
