Things are never actually 'deleted' as such,Windows maps the cluster(s) where the info was as being available to be written over so providing nothing has been installed since, or you haven't defragged the information is still there. Now the bad news, if you don't already have an 'undelete' utility running before the problem you will only get the info back by taking your drive to a specialist who can break down the layers and retrieve the data( did you know that clusters can be written over 16 or 18 times before the bottom layer of data finally becomes unreadable?). If however you are more concerned with the privacy of data even after 'deletion' there are a number of utilities you can download that when you delete using them, write garbage over the clusters several times more than is required to obliterate the data, it can never be retreived.
Have a look in the utilities section of www.windrivers.com for some ideas.
