Filter drivers are usually for HDD drives and assist the Windows driver (esdi_506.pdr)by enhancing some functions, but they can cause trouble where CD burners and the like are involved.Find your chipset filter driver and remove it(use the install routine but choose uninstall). If you have a VIA chipset and have installed the 4 in 1 driver you need to run that package and remove the Atapi vendor support inf(the vxd installer).Reboot and you whould be OK.
