Hello guys !!! Yesterday I posted a probelm on the BIOS section .. that problem i solved with your help (i think the name is Henry, but anyways, everybody here DO help a lot)

Thatīs why iīīm asking for help here again ... :)

I have 2 HDs:
- 14 GB
Old one, particionated in 4 (C,D,E,F)
Iīve Windows XP On it ...
All the file systems, including the Windows and Program files, stay on the C partition (on this HD)

- 40 GB (New one !!)
I particionated it in 2: C and D
i want to put everything i had in the C: 14gb HD on the 40 GB C: drive ...

because ALL the data that i had in the D: E: F: drives at the OLD HD, iīve already put all them at the NEW hd ... but i just CANT GET THE C: partition work right on the NEW HD .. i will explain it ...

i used Partition Magic 7.0 Pro to COPY C: PARTITION of the OLD 14 GB HD, to an empty space at the NEW 40 GB HD ...

when i start the PC with both HDīs connected, one at Primary Master (40 GB, with the partition copy) and the other as Secondary Master (the old 14 GB) , the windows starts allright ... but i just cant understend ... it SEEMS to load the Operational system from the 40 GB HD , wich is Primary Master ... but after the Windows Xp is loaded, and i type my password to login, i noticied a HUGE activity at the 14 GB HD (Old one), wich i expected to be read as a new drive only ... and it SEEMS to have loaded all the Operational System from the OLD hd.

When i open WINDOWS EXPLORER, the 14 GB HD (wich is the OLD), appears as C: D: E: F: .. and the NEW 40 GB appears as H: I: (because G: is my CD-rom ..)

itīs confuse, but letīs review:

OLD HD:
4 partitions (should be named C: D: E: F: if there were only ONE HD ... but there are 2, and this OLD HD is as Secondary Master, so it should be C: D: from the NEW HD and F: G: H: I:, remembering that the CD-ROM is as Primary Slave, so it should be E:)

itīs not confuse, itīs VERYYYYY CONFUSE.

imagine for me .. i dont know how to explain my problem correctlly because i just cant say everthing i want to .. my english is not good lol

i will go on!

and if i start my computer with ONLY ONE HD, this happens:

ONLY THE OLD HD:
- starts OK, as it was before i bought my new HD.

ONLY THE NEW HD: (of course, after copying the C: partition)
- starts OK, but after typing password, it FREEZES for a while (1 min), and after it says that "A problem occured and Windows could not have acces to the System Authenticy "

It says that the PATCH for the System files might be wrong .. and after that, it automatically LOGS OFF ...

I think that iīve already wrote enough ... this is my situation guys ... LOL :)

I tried everything .. the only thing that i cant understand is :

IF I COPYIED THE C: PARTITION, "COPIED", IT SHOULD BE AN EXACT MATCH ... BOTH PARTITIONS SHOULD BE IDENTHICAL .. AND IF THEY ARE, WHY DOESNT IT LOAD ALLRIGHT WHEN I TURN ON MY PC WITH ONLY THE NEW HD ??

I will repeat ... Iīm From Brazil, thatīs why my english is SOO bad, but i did my best, i think that i wrote something "understandable" LOL (i dont even know that if youīre gonna understand whatīs "understandble" mean, lol)

Thx in advance fore any help that i might get.

Felipe.
