I have installed a Maxtor 40g hd. I managed to flash the bios so the computer would recognize the drive. When I boot up (with auto detect) my computer will recognize the type and make of hd, but will not report its size. Once windows loads, I can go into MY COMPUTER, select properties, and it will show the drive size of about 38g (2g short).

I have partitioned formatted, and installed windows on this drive, and all appears OK. My question is, should I be concerned that the size of hd is not reported when the puter is booting up (I belive that when my old 8g drive was in it would report its size on boot)?
