Low Level formatting will not help you.. you will not have damaged your drive... just unpartition it and repartition it and it will work fine.. the CHS settings in the bios will have been ok if the drive autodetected even if it didnt have LBA turned on.. all LBA access does is allow the drive to control where it writes the data and describe its own size rather than having the fixed geometry of CHS... it was provided for drives >2GB where CHS addressing reaches its limit... just unpartition the drive from DOS and repartition it... if you dont know how to do this just reinitialise the disk with ezbios or something to overcome the CHS limitation.
