I have a PC with Win98-2 and 2 removable
HD frames fitted with 4 HardDrives
possibilities now given :
- Hitachi 3 Go
- IBM 20 Go UDMA66
- Maxtor 27 Go UDMA66
- Maxtor 40 Go UDMA66

Each HD has 2 partitions in FAT32, either
build with DOS Fdisk or PartitionMagic 5
(not the Hitachi, whish has only C:).

In the Bios, 1st and 2nd boot are set
automatic

Every C: partition of every HD is bootable
as 1st disk.

Every 2nd disk is well recognized by the
first one as E: and F:

BUT ON MAXTOR 40 Go, "EXTENDED F:
PARTITION IS NOT RECOGNISED" !!!

I did merge the 40 Go HD on 1 partition
with PartitionMagic 5,and then split it
again in 2 partitions:
PROBLEM REMAINS STILL PRESENT !!

WHY ??? What is under Win98-2 the maximum
HardDrive Gigaoctets number recognized?
