I had the same problem. I had to use Partition Magic to create a second partition with the unused space. It was the only way to get around it. You will have to go to the Microsoft.com site and look in the support section for the "corrective measure" as they call it for windows to recognize the full capacity. You'll have to look around in the database for it though, because I don't remember where it was located.
