Why are you low formatting, this would only be done by the manufacturer, this formatting aligns tracks into segments and cylinders and ensures the landing zones are in the right place, if you do this you are more than likely to either a)completely change the volume of your drive.or and more often b)cause drive failure, if you make one mistake of 512 bytes in the format you can cause a head crash which will lead to more of the same and an unusable drive.
