: You need to reformat the disk. If it is Master,
: boot from a Win95-floppy and use Fdisk to delete and
: re-create an unique partition. Make sure this partition
: has an A -Active- and reboot. Type from a: the
: format c: command. With this may be created a FAT32
: disk. Now, you can use the Seagate Disk Wizard to
: recreate the partition.

I have a compaq prolinea and we were trying to format back to 3.1 windows. We tried format c and it would not let us access a:drive unless we put in a 98 windows start up disc in. Then it would let us load the 3.1 discets. But when the machine was shut of and turned back on it gave us a non compatable error. Is there anyway we can totally erase the hard drive so we can load the 3.1 from scratch. If thc unit had a cd-rom we may have been able to go ahead and load windows 98. I have looked and haven't been able to find discets to load 98. Any help appreciated Thanks.
