: : Hiya,
: : I was trying to install Linux on my hard drive. Well not being a techie I screwed up somewhere and now when I go to DRIVE/C/Properties it only shows 1.99 GBs. I have a Western Digital 6.4. How can I recover the remaining disk space not showing up in drive properties. I now have a Beta version of Win2000 Professional installed. Thanks you for your help.

: rod!
: this is a classic example of a fat 16 partition.
: if you want to recovery all the space, WITHOUT linux, then you have to change to a fat 32 partition.
: fat 16 has a max partition size about 2 gigs.

: you should be able to do fat conversion within win2000 there.
: if not, you have to format the hdd, and change it to fat 32, using windows format.
: good luck!

You can have both a linux and a win2000 partiton;
for example make a linux boot partition, win2000 boot partition, then any partition u want, then an extended partition. After installing linux, then win2000, then adding linux to boot.ini (hidden system file), then going to Management/Disk create the extended partition to maximum available size.
