When I received this laptop it would take over 10 mins to boot (I think the other person swapped hard drives). I decided to fdisk the drive and reformat.
It took forever (about an hour) to check drive integrity from Fdisk. I created a logical dos partition (btw, the drive is about 810 megs). It formatted (took forever also) then when trying to install win98 I got an suwin error. I tried win95 instead and same thing. I tried another version of fdisk, and tried doing fdisk /mbr to fix the master boot record. Now if i fdisk and create a partition it will not format, it says now formatting and never moves beyond 0% and the drive keeps spinning. Maybe this drive had some diskmanager type software on it? Is there another way to have it setup the mbr again? Any ideas?
