: BIOS Modification can certainly solve this problem, however the following options might be useful.

: Identify them as seperate Disks (obviously, by partioning them, either as DOS or Non-DOS Partition), and try running them.

: If this does not works.
: for this configration

: motherboard: FYI-5598
: BIOS: Award4.51,
: chipset: sis5597/5598

: Solution 1:

: Go to
: and download BiosWizard (bwz.exe), run it, and follow the instructions. It return the BIOS ID, BIOS Date, BIOS Signature, BIOS Type. Send the Same to Award Online, and they will mail you the hex file for the upgraded BIOS. Use a new Flash / EPROM at write this code inside the IC using any standard programmer.

: : i got a quantum lct 20GB HD,
: : the BIOS setup can found it correctly,
: : but win98,pqmagic4.0 and diskmanager all say it's
: : a 8GB HD,why??

: : motherboard: FYI-5598
: : BIOS: Award4.51,

: : re this post,or email to me!
: : thanks!

You have a partition separating your drive and the system is using the first aval. drive letter which is C and is not needing the other 12 GB, so do a formatt, and delete the partition, and start over, or maybe partition magic will work, and still keep your drive intact
