Attach the first hardrive to the end of the cable, the slave to the connection before that. Make sure that you place the jumpers on the hardrives correctly. The origional HD needs to be at the end of the IDE cable and have the jumper set to "master". The slave needs to be second on the cable and set to "slave" on the jumper. If both hardrives are correctly placed on the cable, the "cable select" jumper setting SHOULD work, but I have found that sometimes it does not.
