I have these problems too. I hope somebody can help!

My system is GF2 MX with WinXP Pro, with any drivers you care to mention. The problems worse for me because I have a naturally dark monitor (not burntout, just dark) and the brightest option still isn't visible!

I've found however that I can adjust gamma to normal settings, even to way-too-bright, by running in D3D. But as soon as I try to use OpenGL the computer just ignores my gamma settings.

It's a pity because OpenGL is so much smoother. I can run things like Serious Sam in maximum detail with a smooth framerate in OpenGL, but in D3D I even have to turn down to 16 bit colour sometimes.

I'll try to find 3Deep, and bookmark this page. At least I know I'm not alone!
