: i have recently replaced my tnt 2 64 pro 32mb with a mx 400 geforce 2 64mb card,i had problems with the game castle wolfenstein "stuttering" during game play so i downloaded the latest direct x,via drivers and microsoft certified nvidia drivers this seemed to solve the problem i have just doubled my ram by adding an extra 128mb ddr and now all the games i have immediately freeze up at the startup screen everything else seems to be fine its just games.i have a amd athalon processor 1.3 and have windows me.if i remove the new ram it works fine again,im a complete novice and would apreciate any help i can get
: cheers

win me has a program which start scandisk and disk defragment after of some minutes idle.this prog starts at evry win log on and it is placed on system tray or contorl panel.the only thing you have to do is disable this program and after typing at start menu\ru\msconfig or installing tweakall for example go to the run programs and remove the pc health from the list.as for wolfstein try to increase your windows swap file because it needs a lot of it.
