I'm having the same problem with my TNT 16 mb and the detonator driver (4.13.01.2311)and Win ME

What I've found so far is that Microsoft suggests unchecking the ndis.vxd box in your MSCONFIG startup area--this caused more problems for me, I guess it is used to support NETBEUI in networking.

The other thing I found was to be sure that you ENABLE "Assign IRQ to VGA" in your bios settings. I have not found a setting for this and have been trying to see if there is a new flashbios for the chip.

I hope this helps, if you find anything else, would you please let me know? cynpbNOSPAM@hotmail.com (remove NOSPAM)

: I have a TNT2 Ultra from Creative with the latest drivers from Nvidia I'm runnig Win98se. The problem started suddenly; Every time I start the PC, windows will start in VGA mode(16 colors 640x480). Sometimes it will tell me that I'm using the wrong graphics adaptor. The only way to go back to my display settings(32bit 1024x768) is to change the adaptor(actually reloading the driver)and restarting the PC(4-5 times!) until I get a 256 colors screen(meaning that the adaptor was loaded)and then changing the settings one last time. The card works fine otherwise. But the next time I start the PC, well it all begins again. In some few ocassions this problem doesn't occur.

: What's wrong? Any insight that could lead me to a solution?
