Ok, I have a pentium 4. It is running at 800 mhz (its clocked down right now) and it has Windows 2000 Pro. I have a Monster Sound mx400a hewlett packard cd burner, a western digital 40 gig hard drive, a radeon video card (i dunno the model *doh*) a new motherboard, and a linksys ether net card.
I reformatted last night and now my computer simply has windows 2000 on it and a few drivers that I installed (pretty much the CD burner drivers and the video card drivers... Win 2000 doesnt seem to like the install window that the disks bring up...)

At any rate my computer does irritating things: The video mostly. I load into windows, and after about 2 or 3 minutes (which is up from the 1 minute that it would take to do this on this computer with windows 98...) the screen does one of 4 things: it either freezes except for the mouse, freezes everything, goes black and the monitor turns off (i dont know if the computer itself turns off... I dont think it does-- the fan stays on, and i remember hearing activity) or it turns into a bunch of fuzzy looking lines (kinda like what happens when the resolutions not right --i think it only did that one once.) Sometimes the freezes happen before it loads windows. In windows 98, I could go to safe mode (i havent tried with this version yet) and it wouldn't do that, so I assumed it had something to do with some file in windows 98 being corrupt. I guess I was wrong. Anyway, I have no idea if its a setting I've got screwed up or if the video card is dying... So any help you'd give me, I'd like alot :) *happy smiling*
I've tried changing the resolution to 640x480, clocking the computer to 1.4 ghz (like its sposta be)... (just so ya know what ive already tried...)
