I have a Voodoo3 3000 and problem is the same.
If I reset the bios via motherboard jumpers the video card will work fine. The problem starts again when I set my CPU Clock speed from 4.5x66 (300MHz) to the correct 4.5x100 (450MHz). Saving and restarting is fine, its when I shut down the computer and cold boot it again that the monitor will not come on, computer will not POST. To turn off the computer I have to hold down my power button for 10 seconds, reset the CMOS again via motheboard jumpers.
I have a PIII 450MHz
Soyo 6BA+ III 2BA6 Motherboard
TTX 1769 17" Monitor
512MB PC100&133 SDRAM
13GB Fujitsu Hard Drive
Tripple booting: WindowsME, 2000 Server, XP Professional.
I can't see it being software/driver related as it won't even POST but who knows....
I replaced my NumberNine 8MB Video Card with this Voodoo3 3000, the 8MB worked fine.

If you figure out how to fix this please email me as well as the follow up post to this. Thanks.

: i just upgraded to win 2k, i had a voodoo3 which worked fine on win ME. i upgraded to win2k and the voodoo3 was causing the computer to lockup on the loading stage of the computer i took it out and booted with my onboard chip in (intel 810) and it booted fine.
: Now a friend has lent me his voodoo5 cuz he has just bought a new card and basically i cant get the thing to install, i downloaded the latest win2k drivers from voodoo files.
: when i connect the voodoo5 up and reboot the monitor wont come on, the standby light just flashes.
: Can anyone offer any help theres obviously some kind of a problem with win2k and voodoo cards. 1 other thing the voodoo5 worked fine on a friends computer who has win2k.
