: Here is what i done today without any luck:

: Unistall RTCW - remove the Nvidia drivers (safe mode) remove all the temp & junk files which referring to Nvidia and Reinstall the drivers ...

: Fifa 2002 still dropping me back to the desktop.

: BTW, i tried to play fifa 2002 right after removing the old nvidia drivers, and tried to play it with MS nvidia based drivers - same problem ....
: its pissing me off ... what got @#@# here ...
: i never had this problems before ....

I am at my wits end and do not know what to do next, any help or advice
would be very, very welcome.

I have a MESH built system (bought just less than 2 years ago) consisting

An ASUS K7 (Slot A) Motherboard with an AMD 700 MHz Processor
256 Mb PC100 RAM (2x 128 Mb DIMMS, one of which was fitted recently)
SoundBlaster live! 1024
Fujitsu 12 Gig H/D
Windows ME Operating System

I did have a Matrox G400 graphics card, which I had no problems with apart
from the fact that it was not quite powerful enough to run the most recent
games on full settings. I replaced this initially with an Hercules 4500 kyro
II chipset card which started off ok but within a day or so began to crash
my system. I replaced this with a Sparkle MX 200 Geforce 2 card but my
system still kept crashing when trying to play games such as Return to
Castle Wolfenstein, Serious Sam and Quake Arena (all of these played fine on
my G400). The strange thing is though that my system still seems stable when
doing other things other than playing these types of games (I can even play
less demanding games)
I have installed the latest motherboard drivers, and the latest 4 in 1 VIA
drivers, I have also tried all of the latest NVidia drivers and although the
games (in particular Return to Castle Wolfenstein) will play for a little
longer before crashing (10 - 15 mins on average) they still crash. Either
the game freezes leaving the frozen picture on screen or I get a blue screen
with a variety of error messages. The latest (NVOPENGL.DLL) is different to
the original messages (mainly vxd, emm 386 type things). I also tried to run
3DMark 2001 after one of these crashes and received an error 'DirectX error message
SetFullscreen- creating the device failed D3DERR - OUT OF VIDEOMEMORY.
