If you open system.ini using notepad or msconfig, under the [386 enh] folder you will see a line that says Minsps=x X is the no. available, the default is two and I should point out that increasing this is not the way to cure the problem, I will explain.
For every 32 bit driver windows loads it creates a 4k scratch file called a stack page, occasionally some badly written programs require more for their driver so windows allocates 2 spare pages just in case, to prevent a stack overflow error.If you increase the no of Sps available its a bit like trying to make the sides of a boat taller to stop it from sinking when water is pouring through a hole in the bottom, it will still sink, just not quite as soon!
To stop this occuring you must update ALL your drivers and make sure they are all 32 bit and no old legacy 16 bit Dos drivers, that way you wont even use the 2 spare SP's.
