: Ok the problem is......

: I have just purchased the GeForce2MX PCI graphics card (32MB) , and having problems getting it to work!

: I have inserted the card into the slot as instructions saidthen when I started the cpu up again it auto detected the new hardware , so i installed the drivers for this card from the cd supplied with card on purchase. But when i click the display settings menu and try to enable the Geforce card instead of the PCI standard graphics adaptor, an error occurs which says :-

: Your primary display must support 256 color (or higher) yo enable an additional display. if ur display adapter is cable of supporting at least 256 colors, you may not beusing the optimal display driver, please contact or hardware vendor for an updated driver.

: Plz help......

Do you have an onbard graphics card? If so you need to make sure to disable it in your CMOS or with a jumper as per what your manual says about disabling it. If it can't be disabled look for a setting like "Make PCI primary graphics adapter" or something to that extent and select it. Also, check in your CMOS and make sure you have "Assign IRQ to VGA" selected. I hope one of these ideas has helped you.
