: : : : I'm looking for the manufacturer of my graphics card. The people who sold me the card say it is an Apollo. As far as I know, Joytech are the company who make these, yet the drivers for download from their website are a version lower than the ones I got on the driver disk (the disk gives no clue as to who the manufacturer is!). The disk driver version is 4.12.01.0384 and are dated 03/04/2000 (04/03/2000 for all you Americans).
: : : Being an nvidia tnt chip, the card you have should be supported by the nvidia detonator drivers, wich you can get almost anywhere.(the same drivers used for the geforce\geforce 2 cards)
: : : .http://www.the-ctrl-alt-del.com should have all
: : : certified(whql) and beta(leaked) detonators.Good luck.
: : Thanks Allister, but it looks like I need more than luck! I tried four different drivers from nvidia (the 650 drivers which I believe are the ones you can get from their website, 7.52, 7.58, and the version 12 ones). None of them worked! All I got was 640x480 res and 256 colours. In the display properties it said Unknown device on Unknown device. I totally cleaned out the previous drivers before installing new ones, but had absolutely no luck.
: I've never used that card, but I have a GTS that uses the same drivers. It doesn't seem to be a driver problem. That's the good part of so many nvidia drivers floating around, if one doesn't work right , another should. If the problem is present on all drivers tested, then the cause will likely be something else. What OS are you using? You may have to download the .inf file from your monitor manufacturer for your monitor, and updated chipset drivers from your MB manufacturer.Post your system specs.
Win98SE PIII 866 128MB DirectX 8
Via MB with latest driver (429)
I've downloaded the latest monitor .inf file from Bridge.
I should explain that I cannot get direct3d games (Deus Ex, Diablo II in D3D mode) to run. I get a corrupted display (graphics glitches). Quake 3, Halflife etc all work fine.
