With the 7855 you can disable the onboard video card in the BIOS - in most models. HP found it necessary to use several flavors of Intel boards in the 7800 series. You can also set the default video card to PCI in the BIOS. With this option yuor system will be multi-monitor enabled but will only effect your work area if you activate it under the properties of your video settings.

: Hi there,
: Heres the situation. I have a video card(3D Prophet) that I've used for a long while now, but with windows ME. (Yeah I know don't go there I know...) Anyhow, I've installed Win2000, but now I can't get the video card working. I've called HP and they said there should be no problems, I called Hercules(makers of the 3D prophet) and they said I have to disable the onboard video card at hardware level. Here's where it gets tricky. Now I know that if I had jumpers on the board, it would be a sinch. Of course that would be too convenient. So the mother board from HP has no jumpers and they were unable to tell me how to do it.
: Help please. What I would like to know is if anyone has any idea how to disable the onboard video card on an HP 7855 Pavilion at hardware level to correct the conflict that may or may not exist. Stumped? If not help me out please.

: Cheers All
: B
