Hi folks,
maybe for some of you it is interesting:
- after re-installing Win98 on my Socket7 system my TNT2M64 card refused to work with Games in OpenGL modes. I tried several Nvidia-drivers and 4 different Via 4in1 drivers - none of them allowed me to play my favourite games (Halflife, Gunman, Sin ...) with OpenGL. The system crashed with a repeating sound as soon as the level started to load. After checking a lot of responsible DLL's I replaced the VIAGART.VXD Version 4.04.0000 (the most actual one) with one I found in the subdirectory AGP33 of the Via 4in1 Release 4.32 driverset. That driver (Version 3.30.0) gave me back the OpenGL-functionality - finally after ~20 hours of research. It must be some strange combination with the Nvidia drivers because a Matrox G200 worked with both of the VIAGART.VXD's - just a little bit too slow :-)

I hope this solution will help some other frustrated users out there as well !!!

Bye
