In Reply to: Re: ABIT BE6 w/HPT366 Controller and Windows XP Install Problem - Update posted by Snoodi on December 05, 2001 at 13:35:30:

I have an ABIT BE6 and I had exactly the same problem. The solution was given with the disk ABIT provides with this motherboard. It contains the drivers for the controller. If you have such a disk, here's what to do: download the latest drivers for the controller from abit's site. unzip them and create an identical disk to the one you've got, simply by overriding the old files with the new ones. During XP installation, hit F6 to add another device and then S to add a storage device(or something, I can't remember the exact term, but you can,t miss it). You will then be asked to insert the floppy, but it will be recognised, only if it's an exact copy of the original! The drivers will then be installed and the installation will procede. Hope this helps.
