Unless you use old Legacy(DOS)games you dont need the Extended Mem Manager running, look for a line in your config.sys or autoexec.bat files that reads Device=Emm386.exe (it may be followed by NOEMS)Delete the entire line, in fact Win 98 runs a lot better with the contents of both these files deleted(not the file just the contents)since they are not used by the system unless there entries present and they invariably slow things down, everything required is loaded or run from the registry.
