you should have a disk (floppy or cd) that came with your motherboard that has the controller drivers on it.. use this to update both of those controllers.. there is supposed to be 2 of them. then reboot. your system should run much faster.

p.s. if you don't have the disk, try to find out what make your controller is ie: Highpoint, Promise and then go to there website to download the latest drivers.
