anyway, Mike, disable udma66 in your bios, hook your harddrive to ide 1 with a 33 cable and do your install. (you might have to flash your bios) I managed to get xp to load and it even recognized both controllers after i went back into my bios and turned udma66 back on. It just won't boot or load on the ide 3 or 4 controller. soooo... i'm off to mess with my registry and see what i can see.. i'll let ya know.P.S. i've been working on this problem for 3 weeks now and this is the first i've heard about the default xp setting in ther reg...
