I do not think you can enable UDMA in Win2000. There is probably some way but it's not from device manager and VIA UDMA tool also doesn't work so I guess it is the default setting for all HDDs. Ask micro$oft ;)
If your BIOS detects your HDD mode 2 that means that your motherboard doesn't support 4,5 modes (SIS obviously doesn't)...
No matter what HDD you put but even ata100 would work in mode 2. CDROMs however, always work in that mode
