For all of you, chances are excellent that "generic" drivers, from the manufacturers of the modems, will solve your problems. For this you will need some research to find out what is the exact hardware in your laptop. For Vaio's, which use Conexant modems (mostly?), http://www.vaio-link.com/uk/vaio_only.htm has everything you need.

: I also have the problem this is what I know so far: 1. Its not the modem driver its the PCI controller (thing which connects modem 2 mothorboard) that needs a driver. I made my sony vaio dual boot and W2k didnt recognize it like win ME does (on ME it is called : Generic PCI Modem Enumerator) W2k recognizes it as a Communicatins Controller, and the win ME driver does not work on W2k when u try to force it. I am currently trying to find how to find who made my Modem enumerater with out opening my laptop and voiding the warentee...
