I had and fixed this problem today. SIS has a patch on their website. Unfortunately, I can only get my hard drive in DMA mode (not UDMA) but thats certainly beeter than PIO.

Get the patch at http://www.sis.com/support/driver/utility.htm
In the utility section its called W2kdma.exe

Good luck
Greg

: Can't enable udma on win2k. However, it works fine in win98se. The bios detects my hd/cdrom as being udma2.
: Win2k stays on pio mode all the time, but I have enable dma if available showing in device manager.
