Ok I admit I dont follow the thinking behind most of your problem apart from the fact that parking the heads is not a problem in itself, your drive does this whenever you close it down, saves getting head crashes. If you feel the heads a stuck in 'park' due to overheating (I'm not convinced) then if all fails, and I do mean as a last resort, remove the drive and using a hide mallet or similar give it a sharp tap or two at the most. This can do two things, free the stuck heads and also free the overheated and now over viscose grease on the spindle. occasionally you can get a result using a hair dryer to warm the drive up to loosen the grease (bit like starting a car in the winter when the oil is thick, it takes more power) this can get you out of the spot your in. And whist you might think these are not pukker suggestions, check out tomshardware.com HDD section, obviously, but remeber these are really last resort tactics only.
